The Practice

A NOTE FROM SAMANTHA’S DESKTOP:
“THE GRACE OF THE DANCE”

“In this small life, I have danced. In this immense life, I have danced. And, the dance has taken me home to the divine and to my own human heart. The dance has reflected to me who I am – the nature of how I feel, how I express, how I enter relationship with God, with other people and with my self. It has been a mirror, a guide, a teacher, a friend, a master and a lover. It has been alternately a sanctuary and an addiction, a discipline and a release, a space to feel my separation and a blissful return. It has been and is all the colors of my life. Now, it is a canvas through on which I paint the picture of Oneness, a space to return to again and again to play in the multi-faceted joy of unity in diversity, an expression of my innate abundance and value in the universe.
“The dance has shown me what true leadership is. It has taught me choice. It has taught me that change is the only constant in created reality. I choose the way I feel and interpret my own experience. I am the creator. WE are creators. I am the narrator; we are the narrators. We are story makers.

“I know every floor is a church, every space is the temple – the home for the god who has no religion. I recognize my fellow dancers as my spiritual companions, my sangha. I recognize ALL people as my spiritual companions on Emerald Jewel Earth, as I dance the dance of self-love, compassion and communion. I know other practices, other temples, other prayers. But the dance is the one that always, always shows me the truth and returns me to love.” -s.s
